La Garfagnana:

Within easy reach of Trassilico there are numerous medieval towns which reveal various cultural aspects of Tuscany.

Visit Barga, Ghivizzano and Coreglia Antelminelli, famous for its plaster statuettes, or San Pellegrino in Alpe with its museum of mountain agricultural life.

A visit to the Grotta del Vento is recommended.

The Sea:

The beaches of Versilia (Porte dei Marmi, Viareggio, Camaiore) are within an hour and a half by car.

To gain a good knowledge of the cuisine of the Garfagnana, make reservations on Sundays and holidays for about midday. We advise you to skip breakfast and to take your time over lunch!! (National holiday) "Festa della stagion buona", pageant in Renaissance costume, sideshows, gastronomic stands. From May to September cultural events and concerts in Panzano and at the Pieve di Panzano, as well as concerts in the churches of the neighbouring towns and villages.
